The Google Equiano subsea cables eventually arrive in Africa for installation at designated locations in the continent. Google affirmed the Equiano subsea cables will be installed in west Africa’s largest market, Nigeria, as well as distributing high-end cables in other regions of Africa. Google-Equiano subsea cables installation in Nigeria is a fraction of Google’s $1billion technology commitment to Africa.

Google West Africa Director, Mrs. Juliet Ehimuan-Chiazor, showed concern for supporting the subsea broadband technology installation, with Nigeria as its start point to accelerate data connectivity in West Africa and across the continent. Chiazor shared Google’s five-year initiative with the Chairman of the Nigerian regulatory ministry, professor Isa Pantami — Nigerian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy.

Google West Africa Director, Mrs. Juliet Ehimuan-Chiazor & the Nigerian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy chairman, Prof. Isa Pantami.

Pantami sighted Chiazor’s foresight to create an avenue for job creation for the installation of the Equiano cables. The subsea broadband technology will also bolster the speed of internet connectivity. The subsea cables are high-end technology that pairs perfectly with the 3.5Ghz broadband connectivity of the NCC spectrum to launch with selected ALTON members.

Chiazor’s optimism in delivering Google’s billion dollars initiative to accelerate Africa’s digital ecosystem is a lucrative investment Pantami’s ministry will want to support with the strategic policy endorsed by his regulatory ministry. Nigeria’s National Digital Economy Policy Ministry will have to be constituted adjustable to subsea cables technology innovation powered by international technology companies designated for broadband connectivity inclusion in the West African digital market.

During the meeting Chiazor had with Pantami’s ministry, she revealed Google has prepared the cables for distribution across the selected region of Africa and Nigeria is Google’s starting point. Google West African director also noted that Nigeria’s subsea cable installation commences on April 2022 per Google’s budgeted $1bn technology innovation commitment to Africa’s digital development.

It is a no-brainer Nigeria will be the frontier of Africa’s technology innovation which serves as a means to accelerate real-time national development digitally. Prior to the end of Google’s five-year timeline for innovative technology acceleration in Africa, the commercial space of Nigeria, Lagos State, would have accomplished its transition into a smart city.

PS: transforming Lagos into a smart city is the only technology campaign that continues to evolve through different governmental systems.

The Lagos State smart city transition is a flexible initiative backed by both socialist and capitalist investors. The success of Lagos’s smart city transition determines a futuristic technology budget for other top-notched cities in Nigeria, such as the Federal Capital Territory, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Ebonyi, Ibadan, etc.

Nigerian digital ecosystem is currently filled with mouthwatering technology resources to accelerate the various technology-related project. For context, the Microsoft Corp eventually debuted the $100m data center the software giant promised to install in Africa. The African Development Centre was newly launched in Lagos schemed for technology engineering and innovative solutions.

Now, Google’s one billion dollars commitment to innovate the African digital ecosystem is in progress with the subsea cables supervisory to the West African Director of Google’s services, Mrs. Juliet Ehimuan-Chiazor’s office.

In sum, the federal government is enthused by Google’s technology inclusion to pace digital economic growth. The Techbooky team is also enthused to experience soluble technology innovations such as Google’s subsea cables, Microsoft’s ADC solutions, the Nigeria federal government 5G broadband spectrum, etc. — which will be profitable to the national digital economy.
