London-based data analytics and consulting company, GlobalData has in recent H2 2021 report on 5G RAN known as ‘Competitive Landscape Assessment’ has rated telecommunications equipment company, Huawei as the leader of 5G RAN portfolio for the third year in a row.

In the report, the product portfolio of Huawei surpassed that of its competitors in radio unit portfolio breadth, baseband unit (BBU) capacity, ease of installation, and technological evolution, all the 4 criteria needed for the ranking.

The report released every 6 months to evaluate the competitive advantages of 5G RAN products from major RAN vendors, showed that the ICT global provider radio product range helps in greatly facilitating ubiquitous 5G gigabit experiences in radio unit portfolio breadth.

Huawei has with continuous innovation, seen it placed above others, having accumulated numerous advantages allowing it to deploy across different scenarios, while driving the industry forward.

The company’s radio product range expedites ubiquitous 5G gigabit experiences as it relates to radio unit portfolio breadth and instances of such can be seen in its different offerings. The MetaAAU and BladeAAU Pro are vivid examples of such given that the former improves both coverage and energy efficiency while the latter simplifies 5G deployment at sites with limited antenna space. Huawei’s 400MHz ultra-wideband AAU gives operators the leverage to utilize fragmented spectrum while constructing shared multi-operator networks.  It’s sub-3 GHz 4T-8T-Massive MIMO multi-antenna ultra-wideband products helps to improve spectral and energy efficiency and also reduce costs.

The services also help the different operators upgrade their networks even as the company is famed for giving one of the widest varieties of 5G radio products for deployment in different situations.

The H2 2021 report also highlighted how Huawei BBUS900 was rated the best in BBU capacity, with the BBUS900 having the largest number of cells per unit volume and industry-leading 400 MHz mmWave cell capability. The report revealed that the Huawei BBU5900 gives the operators’ return on investment, while having the ability to cope with future traffic growth.

Another criteria used in the rating  was Huawei’s simplicity of installation, the its  5G RAN portfolio researched to have been far ahead of its competitors in areas of engineering and installation, including lightweight devices and compact form factors.

The report finally highlighted how Huawei’s numerous innovations can be seen in various areas of tech-evolution, noting how the multinational technology corporation was the first company to propose new directions for 5.5G to promote sustainable development for 5G into the future.
