It looks like a Google week on our website, from Allo launch to its acquisition of a chatbot company and now all get can get AMP’d. AMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages which was first announced last year but since then only some pages mostly in retail saw their pages ranked in mobile search as AMP’d.

With today’s announcement from Google though, it means mobile Google search users will now be showed fast loading sites which Google says will save the user 10 times less data than the equivalent non-AMP page. In addition, pages will load in less than a second from Google search.

This service looks like Facebook’s Instant Articles which loads articles fast compared to articles that are linked to third party sites. These articles on Facebook actually originate from Facebook servers because using RSS feed or direct creation on Facebook, articles are able to load on Facebook server and this is displayed fast to the end user.
