Facebook Messenger gets the @ for mentions feature. Facebook announced that the globally rolled out feature will allow you call out someone in your group chat easily. The globally rolled out feature which is already used in WhatsApp can be used mentioning the targeted person by name or nick name.
But this wasn’t the main thing that Facebook announced today. They are brining News Feed Reactions (the like, love, smiley face etc). By bringing this to Messenger you will be able to express how you feel about a message.
“You’ll be able to see how people have reacted to a message in the lower corner of the message. There, you’ll see the reactions people selected alongside a number indicating how many people reacted to the message. Tapping on the emojis will show you which members of your conversation reacted which way.”
Facebook Messenger has over a billion users and has since transformed into a tool for social and business chats.
