Hardware, Radio Access Network (RAN) Compute, software and services for radio, antenna system, transport, power, and site solutions are part of Ericsson Radio Systems (ERS) mooted to guarantee a smoth and cost-effective transformation from the current 4G network to 5G, in the process supporting communications service providers to launch the technology while expanding the 5G coverage.
Ericsson’s 5G radio access technologies will furnish out the needed infrastructure that meets the increasing demand for high-bandwidth connections, while it supports the real-time, low-latency, high-reliability communication requirements of mission-critical applications.
The two companies (Ooredoo Qatar and Ericsson) will also be collaborating on event network management to allow football fans enjoy the connectivity experience benefits even before and during the regional tournament from November 30 to December 18 2021.
The advancement of the fifth generation technology at the stadiums is currently being validated with the Ooredo-Ericsson alignment to bring about a 5G-focused country-wide network modernization program, with the two brands actively deploying new technology towards the goal of nationwide 5G coverage.
“Expectations are running high for the major football tournament in Qatar in 2022, making it even more important for us to leverage the full potential of 5G”, says Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al Thani, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Qatar.
