Everything You Need To Know About Ecommerce Website Development Services

Since the launch of Progressive Web Apps in 2015, several businesses have benefited greatly from this technology. They can provide extremely engaging user experiences while also reaching new user bases. The most noteworthy use cases have come from big corporations such as Twitter, Trivago, Alibaba, and Walmart, who have reported quadrupled conversion rates and quicker revenue growth than ever before.

These business titans’ PWA success stories are logically appealing to a variety of small and mid-sized enterprises. Merchants can now deliver the same high-converting, app-like experience as a native app to a far broader audience on the mobile web by using Progressive Web Apps and ecommerce website development services.

What exactly is a Progressive Web App?

A Progressive Online App (PWA) is a web application that leverages the newest web capabilities to provide users with a native app-like experience. It is the technology that will offer consistency across online and native apps, allowing them to be replaced by a single instance.

Native applications have always given a richer experience than mobile web, resulting in great engagement with the end user. A Progressive Web Application is a website that appears and behaves like a native app, which means it is extremely fast, can be put to a smartphone’s home screen, sends push notifications, and can even operate offline.

Why Does Your Company Need a Progressive Web App?

With mobile traffic now outnumbering desktop traffic – 60 percent of traffic is now coming from mobile devices — it is critical for merchants to deliver the greatest shopping experience possible in order to engage their audience. While mobile traffic is increasing, conversion rates are not: mobile traffic accounts for just 16% of overall conversion.

According to Google, when an ecommerce business switches to a Progressive Web App, they often get a 20% increase in overall income, with mobile conversion rates tripling in certain situations.

Any new or current webshop should consider offering their services as a Progressive Web app rather than a traditional online store. Because the bulk of ecommerce websites have yet to implement this new technology, they provide a unique and exciting chance to stay ahead of the competition.

  • Installing on the home screen increases user adoption

Progressive Web Apps offer a highly engaging user experience with the same functionality as native apps. Progressive Web Apps may be put on the home screen, allowing users to access them immediately.

The average number of apps downloaded by a smartphone user in a normal month is close to zero. People do not instal applications. ‘Downloading’ a Progressive Web App is as simple as visiting a web link and accepting a prompt. By being displayed on the user’s home screen, the website will be transformed into a “true” app, rather than a browser shortcut.

This provides the same goal as downloading from an app shop, but without the bother of the app store process. Furthermore, once the PWA is put on the home screen, no additional updates are necessary.

PWAs are automatically updated in the background, ensuring that your consumers always view the most up-to-date information. It is somewhat unsurprising, however, that firms are reporting that their users instal their PWAs despite previously rejecting their native app.

Customers who had removed their native app returned to utilise the Flipkart PWA, according to the business. Quick installs using PWA make a difference in user engagement for any website’s user adoption.

Approximately 96% of internet users browse the web anonymously, do not post their email addresses or contact information on websites, and do not create an account. This is a massive blind area that every company hopes to transform into a sweet spot.

When visiting a website, the barrier for allowing a Push Notification is significantly lower than the level for signing up for a mailing service. According to Google, over 60% of consumers enable their PWAs to send them alerts, which greatly boost possibilities to sell products or services. According to industry standards, 2.7x more consumers will open and click a web push notice than an email.

  • Lower development costs, faster innovation, and continuous delivery

Businesses who use an omni-channel, multiplatform approach are presently developing, maintaining, and advertising up to four systems: their (responsive) website, their Android app, their iOS applications, and, in some cases, their Windows 10 native apps.

While developing, optimising, and maintaining a responsive website is already a time-consuming process, adding native app development may easily triple that investment. This is due not just to the development of an app, but also to constant monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and app store approval processes of pwa development.

  • PWAs can help your SEO

Because a PWA is web-based, search engines can find anything. Google and Bing may connect to, distribute, and rank any material within a PWA. This is in contrast to native applications, which do not enable search engine robots to crawl them. Users may be immediately linked to the most sophisticated digital products on any device, at any time, by breaking through the barriers between web and native.

  • Excellent performance in the short term

Internet consumers are always seeking faster speeds, especially with the enormous growth in mobile-first and mobile-online usage. According to research, 53 percent of users abandon a website after only 3 seconds of page load time, and conversion rates drop by 21.8 percent for every 1 second delay in page speed.

It’s nearly incredible that the average load time of mobile web sites on 3G networks is 19 seconds and 14 seconds on 4G networks. According to the research, “The Need for Mobile Speed,” mobile sites that loaded in five seconds outperformed those that took 19 seconds to load: sites that loaded in five seconds have a 25% greater ad viewability.

Progressive Web Apps are developed from the ground up to provide incredibly smooth and quick user experiences. It outperforms both on page loads by leveraging the web’s performance benefits and ‘native-style’ client-side caching. PWAs may load in less than a second, providing a genuine ‘instant’ speed experience that engages the user from the outset.

Furthermore, Progressive Web Apps consume much less disc space – on both the business’ server and the user’s device – resulting in advantages such as faster loading times, reduced data usage, and less necessary storage space.
