YouTube is redesigning YouTube.com and it gives you a darker mode which some say is better for watching stuff online. To see it, you will need to visit YouTube’s Opt-in page to allow the changes which has a black and white feel. This could be difficult for users who have been used to this traditional way of streaming on YouTube.
Please note that this is just a preview for now and Google hasn’t officially made the announcement yet. It is the feedback it gets from the public that will determine if the redesign should go ahead like this or in another way.
