Clubhouse plans launching monetization feature for creators on its platform. The audio-chat platform announced on Monday, 5th of April that it will launch a monetization feature for creators on its platform so that they can benefit from the content they share on the platform. Clubhouse was also quick to add that is strictly for creators on its platform that it will not benefit any money from it and has no future plans on doing so.
Clubhouse said that from on Monday, 5th of April, users on the platform will be able to make payments using the platform. Although it will only be available for now to a small group for testing, Clubhouse says every user on the app will soon be able to send payments using the app.
Clubhouse plans on adding a ‘Send money’ feature that will allow users be able to send their payment after clicking it. Clubhouse ensures users that the new feature is safe and secure, and payments will be processed by globally renowned digital payment platform Stripe. Clubhouse also made it known that its processing partner Stripe will charge a small card processing fee for the payments.
Clubhouse is one of those few platforms that can boast of meteoric growth in such a short time. The company is based in San Francisco and is a one-of-a-kind app. It operates by allowing users gather in audio chat rooms where they get to talk about different happenings and topics. Users need to get invited before they can join a chat room. This is unlike how chat rooms and groups in other platforms work. On other platforms, users can either be added or sent a group link to join a group. One of the major factors that contributed to the growth of Clubhouse is Elon Musk’s involvement after he held a surprise discussion on the platform with Vlad Tenev, the CEO of Robinhood.
Clubhouse still remains a one-of-a-kind app and its monetization feature will make it a hotspot for creators. Imaging putting out content and getting paid for it.
