BMW debuted the mini version of its electric bike they dubbed CE 02 ahead of the IAA Mobility conference. Overtime BMW has developed several mechanical vehicles as well as vehicles built with electrical engineering. Still, BMW’s Motorrad division has taken the lead to develop the first mini-bike powered by electricity.
Prior to this new development, BMW’s Motorrad division has reportedly attempted several designs and concepts to sway its customer with its CE 02 mini-bikes coupled out of electric components that appear to be extremely cool. Although BMW is more concerned about developing electric vehicles — the CE 02 mini bike is suitable for BMW electric vehicles campaign in Germany.
The CE 02 is the first electric mini bike BMW finally developed and they are taking it to Germany to show off at the IAA mobility conference. In line with BMW’s Motorrad division, the CE 02 mini bike depicts an untold sci-fi concept BMW developed that is suitable for the future.
The CE 02 has exquisite two-wheeled tiny tires that are expected to swerve obstacles with ease. With the BMW’s CE 02 aside as the first electric mini-bike, the BMW Motorrad division has also confirmed a larger concept of BMW’s electric biking experience.
BMW dubbed the next electric bike the CE 04 which is expected to be cool, and exquisite in contrast to the current CE 02 mini electric bike. The futuristic CE 04 is currently under production and it is likely to roll out next year — although BMW didn’t disclose much about the CE 04 electric bike until the timing is right.
The CE 02 electric bike is built to respond to its default technoid system, while the mini bike has BMW’s signature colour — silver and black, with a touch of blue. Still, BMW did not disclose the battery capacity — they might probably be saving the information for Germans at the IAA Mobility conference.
Lest BMW Motorrad division disclosed the CE O2 mini bike has an 11kW belt-driven motor that supports the electric components that bolsters the CE 02 speed. When the bike is fully charged, it is expected to cover an average distance of 56 miles per hour which is equivalent to 90 kilometres per hour. The CE O2 weighs up to 265 pounds, per BMW’s Motorrad division concepts.
It is worth noting that the CE 02 mini bike has no pedals while the inbuilt electricity keeps it in motion. According to the BMW’s Motorrad concept, there is a footrest underneath the bike for users to maintain balance — this concept depicts the addition of a skateboard to a bike but the absence of pedals to bolster its motion steadiness
Unlike the typical bike, the CE 02 leads the way with a headlight and another smaller LED screen that displays basic information about the mini-bike, such as the battery status and the speed — BMW deliberately placed this at the handlebars of the CE 02.
Just like the BMW cars, CE 02 is a perfect vehicle to cruise around the city likewise the CE 02 mini bike is the first of its kind.
