BlackBerry wants you to dump your iPhone and will pay for it

BlackBerry wants you to dump your iPhone. It gets even more interesting because they’ll pay you for doing just that. As part of the deal, you’ll have to switch to the new BlackBerry Passport.

The Canadian company will pay $550/98,000 Naira to iPhone users who participate in this “trade up” plan.

A desperate or smart move?

BlackBerry has been struggling lately with its smartphone sales recently dropping  by 40%. The company has undergone several restructuring to keep standing and is back with a new phone. I do believe that with its prime feature being the BBM (blackberry messenger) now a cross platform app, I suspect many iPhone users may not buy the deal. But time they say will tell.
