The design of the Apple Watch Series 10 has changed. The Series 10 design is much slimmer and has bigger screens, yet not being as innovative as some would have thought. Additionally, iFixit has released its customary disassembly video of the new Apple Watch Series 10 for those who are interested in seeing what’s inside.
The Apple Watch is undoubtedly a fantastic device, both inside and out. Seeing so much technology in such a tiny package is astounding. But because of its design, the Apple Watch is more challenging to disassemble and fix. As demonstrated by iFixit, heating the display is still necessary to remove it in order to reach the interior components.
In India, the Apple Watch Series 10 was introduced on September 9. Significant improvements have been made to the Apple Watch Series 9 replacement, particularly in terms of processing speed and battery life. However, it may be challenging to fix, according to a recent deconstruction video for Apple’s most recent smartwatch series. Additionally, the Cupertino-based tech giant hinted at its battery capacity, which was not disclosed during the launch ceremony. A larger Taptic engine and other internal components of the smartwatch have also been made public. The repairability score of the Apple Watch Series 10 was also evaluated.
An iFixit deconstruction video claims that the Apple Watch Series 10 46mm model has a tiny 0.176 mm gap that must be pried open in order to access its internal components. But in order to get rid of the adhesive holding the battery in place, heat must be applied. The smartwatch’s 327mAh battery is visible when it is opened. By contrast, the Apple Watch Series 9 was said to have a battery capacity of 308mAh, which is a little improvement over its predecessor.
A bigger Taptic engine, a part that gives Apple gadgets their tactile sensation, is also seen in the disassembly. According to iFixit, it is challenging to fix the rear glass and sensors, as well as the complete Apple Watch Series 10. It has been given a 3 out of 10 for repairability.
Typing passcodes and messages is made easier by the Apple Watch Series 10’s softened edges and new wide-angle OLED display. According to Apple, the screen is 40 percent brighter and the biggest screen in the regular Apple Watch lineup. Additionally, it is said to be the thinnest Apple Watch ever made by the firm.
A new S10 chipset with a four-core neural engine powers the Watch Series 10. Now, users can utilize the built-in speaker on their wrist watch to play music and podcasts.
It is water resistant up to 5ATM (50m) for durability. Additionally, Apple asserts that the Watch Series 10 is its fastest-charging smartwatch to date, achieving up to 80% charge in only 30 minutes.
The watch’s water resistance is undoubtedly enhanced by the components’ excellent fit, which results in a 0.176 millimeter gap between the metal and glass. Furthermore, the antennae on the Cellular versions are now perfectly integrated into the case’s construction.
The Taptic Engine and the 1,266 Wh battery (this is the 46mm version, it’s worth emphasizing), which has a capacity comparable to earlier versions, are the first parts visible once the display is removed. The internal battery of the Apple Watch, in contrast to the iPhone, is affixed using a straightforward glue that is readily removable.
Numerous tiny connections and screws must be removed in order to access additional components. Curiously, iFixit has also examined the OLED display of the Apple Watch in further detail. The Series 10’s construction seems to be mostly the same, despite Apple’s promises that it features a revolutionary display that can be viewed from more angles.
It is still quite challenging to replace the Apple Watch sensors because they are located beneath all the other parts. In its repairability assessment, iFixit rated the Series 10 a score of 3 out of 10, while praising its new, smaller form.
