Apple Might Delay The Launch Of iPadOS 16 Until October

Apple might delay iPadOS 16 launch to October - The Verge

Reports say Apple intends to postpone the release of the updated iPadOS. According to recent claims from unidentified sources, the company would delay the release of iPadOS 16, unlike previous years when new versions of iOS and iPadOS were released simultaneously. That would imply that we may anticipate new iPhone software in September, followed by an update to the iPad OS in October.

The release has been postponed until October due to a problem with the new Stage Manager function in iPadOS 16. The Stage Manager function, which has the potential to provide a more Mac-like multi-window experience on an iPad, is reportedly still under development. According to reports, the Stage Manager’s implementation is partially to blame for the delay because Apple is still working to fix the flaws. The delay will give Apple more time to address the flaws and fix them.

The iPad Pro and iPad Air from last year are the only M1-powered iPad models that will support the Stage Manager feature in iPadOS 16. Apple claims that the limitation is due to the older iPads’ inability to provide an “acceptable” multitasking experience.

Since being an independent operating system for the iPad, iPadOS has thus far remained dependent on updates to iOS. Apple may deviate from its usual release schedule for iOS and iPadOS if the introduction of iPadOS 16 is delayed. The software will be released on new iPads thanks to the update in October. Later this year, Apple is anticipated to release iPad Pro models with M2 processors and a new entry-level iPad.

At the June 2022 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), iPadOS 16 was unveiled alongside iOS 16, macOS Ventura, WatchOS 9, and other new Apple software. Apple also unveiled the new M2 chip at WWDC 2022, along with a brand-new M2-powered MacBook Air and an upgraded 13-inch MacBook Pro model.

A built-in weather app enhanced support for external screens, and new Mac-like controls for productivity apps are among the new features in the iPadOS 16 upgrade. A new lock screen, the option to retract iMessage messages, and an updated Home app for managing accessories are all part of the iOS 16 release.

For iPadOS 16 and iOS 16, Apple has previously stated that a number of features won’t be included in the initial releases. This contains a function called Live Activities that enables applications like Uber to pin the status of a pickup to the iPhone’s lock screen. Additionally, a new CarPlay interface and the Freeform iPad whiteboarding app are in the works.
