A free repair programme has been announced by Apple. Some users with watch SE and Series 5 models running watchOS 7.2 or 7.3 are experiencing a charging issue, this free repair programme by Apple will be for them.
This is according to a support document posted on Apple’s website that some Watch Series 5 and Watch SE users complained that their smart watch wasn’t charging after entering Power Reserve mode.
This charging problem faced by these users is caused by a bug that prevents the Watch from charging once it enters Power Reserve Mode. To rectify this problem Apple has launched the watchOS 7.3.1. Users can also get their Apple Watch Series 5 and Watch SE repaired for free from Apple-authorised service centres.
Apple disclosed in a statement that a smaller number of Watch SE and Series 5 models running watchOS 7.2 or 7.3 are experiencing a charging issue after these devices enter Power Reserve. The support page for the repair program reads: “A very small number of customers with Apple Watch Series 5 or Apple Watch SE models running watchOS 7.2 or 7.3 have experienced an issue with their watch not charging after it enters Power Reserve.”
The company also mentioned that it will repair the affected Apple Watch models for free.

Your watch will be checked before service to confirm that it is qualified for free repair. Apple says that it will provide free mail-in repairs for eligible devices
Apple has also advised users to update their Apple Watch SE and Series 5 to watchOS 7.3.1 to avoid experiencing the issue. WatchOS 7.3.1, which prevents this issue from happening to other Apple Watch Series 5 or Apple Watch SE devices.
