Earlier on Wednesday, Apple introduced all the new iPhone 14 lineup, an Apple Watch with extreme abilities, and also an improved version of the AirPods Pro. Built into a lightweight and compact body that guarantees an exceptional acoustic experience and cancels up to twice as much noise as the previous generation.
The new generation of the AirPods Pro features the same pearly white appearance just like the first model from 2019, so not much has changed in terms of aesthetics from the prior version. The MagSafe-compatible charging case Apple announced last year is still compatible with the noise-cancelling earphones. However, Apple has made some intriguing hardware updates that elevate the second-generation AirPods Pro and usher the status of Apple’s most remarkable earbuds to date.
Apple states that the new AirPods Pro can support up to 6 hours of continuous music with noise cancelling turned on or an additional 30 hours with the included charging case. The new H2 chip in the 2022 model also enables a better Adaptive Transparency mode, a greater level of noise reduction, unrivalled audio quality, swipe controls on the stems for playback control and new features for even more convenience. Transparency mode makes it possible for listeners to stay connected to their music while still being aware of the world around them. Now, Adaptive Transparency takes this customer-loved feature even further.
Now, users can control media playback and also adjust the volume without having to do so from another device. With Touch control on AirPods Pro, a light swipe up or down on the stem enables quick volume adjustments just the way you’ll like it.
Since the best audio experience isn’t complete without a great in-ear fit, a new extra small ear tip is included so even more people can experience the magic of AirPods Pro. Built-in speakers are included in both earphones and Apple’s new Find My-ready charging case to help you locate them should you misplace them.
For even more convenience, the AirPods Pro now offers customers the ability to charge using an Apple Watch charger, in addition to a MagSafe charger, Qi-certified charging mat, or the Lightning cable.
The second-generation AirPods Pro will go on sale for $249.99 starting September 23, start ordering now. The entry-level AirPods will remain available for $179, although it’s unconfirmed that Apple may stop sales for the first-generation AirPods Pro once the second-generation device is released.
