Yeah!! Today the 17th day of July is World Emoji Day, and to mark the event Apple is celebrating it by adding some of the 70+ new emoji that will be featured in iOS 12 and macOS Mojave. According to the details published by the company in a blog post.
The new emojis are based on characters approved for Unicode 11.0, back in February by the Unicode Consortium , the group that decides on new emojis. According to BBC news. The addition came with an intention to better represent the vast demographic of users, including all different hair types and skin tones, as well as more expressive faces. There will be a cold face, a party face, a pleading face and a face with hearts.
In the furry friends section, we will have a kangaroo, peacock, parrot and lobster joining the fray.
In the food department, you can expect to see emojis for mango, lettuce, cupcakes and mooncakes, and plenty others.
Also added are Smiling Face with Smiling Eyes and Three Hearts, Partying Face, Pleading Face and Cold Face.
Earlier this year, Apple proposed new emojis to represent people with disabilities. It added “hundreds” of new emojis last year in iOS 11.1, few were released to the September 2017 iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch operating system, as well as similar macOS and watchOS updates.
The additions will be available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, and Mac owners. The features will be available on all its platforms “later this year”, on iOS 12.
