Android 12 remains the newest version of the platform that was released in October 2021. Less than a month after Google’s own Pixel smartphones with Android 12, Samsung is also launching its Galaxy devices with the newest Android version. Over the coming months, Samsung has confirmed that more devices will be updated with the Andoird version.
Although Android 12 has since become one of the platform’s biggest updates ever on a visual level, however, most of those design changes are completely exclusive to Google Pixel devices. Samsung has managed to provide some changes to the device in One UI 4.0. Just like the Google Pixel 6 has it, Android 12 on Samsung devices makes provision for all widgets to appear with rounded corners. Also, a new design language is adopted for some of those widgets and a number of Samsung’s stock apps as well. Speaking of the Android 12’s Dynamic Color feature, it works like a charm. The feature has the ability to pull colours from your wallpaper and then apply them to system accents and many apps.
According to 9to5Google, there are also numerous privacy enhancements in Android 12, with new indicators that visibly show when the microphone or camera is in use, even if it’s in the background. Users can choose to give apps only an approximate location instead of a precise one, and there’s a Privacy Dashboard in the Settings to easily show which apps are using sensitive permissions.
