“We’ve re–imagined what a TV can do by building it with two of our most popular experiences at the core calling the sets a way to make controlling your TV faster, simpler, and more natural”.
Amazon now has an opportunity to boost its advertising business and cement its stint at the top with the TV licensing.
The Omni Series comes with a Fire TV integration and voice technology that has the capacity to ask Alexa to search for shows via various modes, while accessing streams, cable, music and gaming. The Voice has the ability to control playback, brightness, and TV sound and inputs. The TV can also make calls. Amazon, at the top of its game has been selling out streaming devices that connects to a Television and has sat back, leaving TV manufacturing to brands such as Toshiba and Isignia, who on their own have made couple of sets adorned with the Amazon Fire interface.
The Jeff Bezos founded company further reiterates its avowed mission to have the new sets integrate the Fire TV software with Alexa voice controls.
An elated Amazon spokesperson in a Press release on September 9 had affirmed:
“Simply ask Alexa to tune to your favourite show and you will jump right into the program you’re looking for, without needing to remember which channel name, streaming service or input device to switch to”.
Just like other Amazon’s products like the Echo smart speakers, the Fire TV Omni has the capacity to also control other Alexa-enabled devices like security systems, doorbell cameras, smart lightning and thermostats.
It is hoped that Amazon, one of the Big Five U.S companies will continue to dish out new improvements on its existing market products.
