Amazon has launched its first ever smart TVs, the ‘Amazon Fire TV Omni Series, 4-Series smart TVs and Fire TV Stick 4k Max.

The new TV series adorned with hands free Alexa access, 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Digital Plus, HDR10, together with a hybrid log gamma, will  be exclusively available on Amazon and Best But for users in the US at $410. But customers who purchase the 50-inch Fire TV Omni and the 4-Series will have the opportunity of having a $110 off.

Amazon’s Entertainment Devices and Services Vice-President, Mr. Daniel Rausch was emphatic when he said:

“We’ve re–imagined what a TV can do by building it with two of our most popular experiences at the core calling the sets a way to make controlling your TV faster, simpler, and more natural”.

Amazon now has an opportunity to boost its advertising business and cement its stint at the top with the TV licensing.

The Omni Series comes with a Fire TV integration and voice technology that has the capacity to ask Alexa to search for shows via various modes, while accessing streams, cable, music and gaming. The Voice has the ability to control playback, brightness, and TV sound and inputs. The TV can also make calls. According to Amazon, Zoom Video calling will be available on Smart TV later in the year, a debut ever for a Television service. The sets will also be available to access other devices, together with camera s and Ring smart doorbells.

The tech company in its own self assessment says the 4k Smart TV devices have great picture quality and affordable prices. The Fire TV 4-Series sets have fewer features than the Omni Series and are available in fewer sizes, with three options ranging from 43 inches ($369.99) to 55 inches ($519.99).

Amazon, at the top of its game has been selling out streaming devices that connects to a Television and has sat back, leaving TV manufacturing to brands such as Toshiba and Isignia, who on their own have made couple of sets adorned with the Amazon Fire interface.

The Jeff Bezos founded company further reiterates its avowed mission to have the new sets integrate the Fire TV software with Alexa voice controls.

An elated Amazon spokesperson in a Press release on September 9 had affirmed:

“Simply ask Alexa to tune to your favourite show and you will jump right into the program you’re looking for, without needing to remember which channel name, streaming service or input device to switch to”.

Just like other Amazon’s products like the Echo smart speakers, the Fire TV Omni has the capacity to also control other Alexa-enabled devices like security systems, doorbell cameras, smart lightning and thermostats.

It is hoped that Amazon, one of the Big Five U.S companies will continue to dish out new improvements on its existing market products.
