As Apple’s WWDC keynote continued, the tech company revealed the preview of iOS 15 that includes significant tweaks such as changes made on FaceTime, enhancing its privacy control with severe encryption, and its notification dashboard.
iOS notification has a different design that looks astonishing with bigger app icons — Apple reportedly added ‘Focus’ on its notification dashboard — the filtered notification display according to the users’ idea of customizing how alert reacts with ongoing activity on the device.
The new Focus Mode on iOS notification can also allow you to add widgets on your custom home screen. This Mode also has preferential options that allow users to distinguish between prioritized notification and common notification — the least categorized option can not display while the device is active, in line with users’ choice.
Apple’s weather app will be more detailed with information about your environment according to the mapped details with a wider range of background design like animation. The Map app moves like a three-dimensional effect while CarPlay is in motion via an iPhone.
FaceTime also got tweaked with the platform coming to other OS platforms such as Android and Windows OS. While Apple’s FaceTime is designed to function like Zoom, which calls multiple users at a time. Other OS platforms with FaceTime also come with a referral link for inviting others.
The iPhone maker also integrated its Music app and videos with FaceTime. Apples Spatial Audio also supports video calling — separating the voice from other background sounds. Users can also share videos and music while FaceTime is active. Apple intends to expand its userbase allowing third-parties access to its FaceTime they have held precious overtime.
iMessage also got new changes based on the privacy of its users — whenever you enable Do Not Disturb, DND, the recipient will also be notified about your active DND — this appears like an automated status update. DND can be overridden by prioritized messages iMessage tags as urgent. Multiple messages will appear in a grid or collage view.
Nonetheless, Apple’s web browser, Safari has changed too, with a new look for its browser’s tabs that also supports grouped tabs. Safari also supports webpages extension. Not forgetting Apple’s Live Text that extracts text from images. All these new features and tweaks will be available In iOS 15 which the iPhone maker said will be available during this fall.
