The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is AMD’s latest desktop processor which was announced at the CES event that took place earlier in the year. The latest desktop processor has finally gotten a release date and price. The new processor will be for $449 starting April 20. All is set for Ryzen 7 5800X3D to hit the stores, a processor AMD has proudly declared to be the “world’s fastest gaming processor.”
According to reports, the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D is said to share extreme similarities with the Ryzen 7 5800X model, with boasts of about eight cores, 16 threads, and compatibility with AMD’s AM4 socket. But as similar as they could be, one major difference still persists, the latest addition to AMD’s collection of desktop processors marks the debut of AMD’s 3D-stacking V-Cache technology. This latest debut will allow AMD to up the L3 cache significantly from 32MB to 96MB. The company disclosed that this significant cache addition should translate to about a 15 per cent boost in overall performance compared to the Ryzen 5900X (despite the fact that the 5900X has a considerable amount of 12 cores and 24 threads).
On the debut list by the company are several other new Zen 2 and Zen 3 desktop processors designed for the lower end of its range, starting at $299 for Ryzen 7 5700X (which boast about eight cores, 16 threads, and a boosted clock speed of 4.6GHz) Ryzen 3 4100 starting at $99 at the base of the company’s lineup.
The Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 models will also come bundled with an AMD Wraith Cooler and will be available starting April 4th, a few ahead of the Ryzen 5800X3D. Find below the full list of new processors scheduled to debut:
It’s important to note, though all of the new processors listed are not AMD’s next-generation Ryzen 7000 chips that are set to use the company’s upcoming Zen 4 architecture on a new 5nm process — those aren’t scheduled to debut yet until later in the second half of 2022.
