9mobile get yet another award

Embattled telecommunications firm, 9mobile which was recognised for its resilience amidst the turbulence and rated 34th in the Top 50 brands in the 2017 report, has yet again won a total of 13 awards at the just concluded 12th Annual Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival Awards.

Sometimes, it’s difficult to point what attracts customers or keep consumers stuck with a particular product or service. E-commerce sites Konga and Jumia are top on the list as most visited sites in Nigeria. However, while Konga is rated as having a better customer service relationship and even selling at cheaper rates, it’s still struggling to be Nigeria’s number 1 e-commerce site. This is a similar case with the telecommunications company, 9mobile.

The sequence of awards included seven golds for the radio corporate image, the jingle that presaged the launch of the new brand identity which was unveiled in June, Best Use of Music at the brand identity launch, Digital Craft for the Cloud 9 Independence Campaign and for Easyblaze Hand press campaign.

9mobile also won silver awards in many top-rated categories- Best Use of Photo Manipulation for Easyblaze Hand, Best Film Editing for the celebrated youth-centric Easycliq Breakfree campaign, and the Best Outdoor for the flagship U-15 School Cup, Punch reported.

The bronze awards were for the Press for the 9mobile Hulk campaign, Best Film Editing for the 9mobile prize for Literature’s short film titled ‘Closed’ and for the Brand Identity Unveil.

The Director,  Brands and Experience, Elvis Ogiemwanye expressed his delight at the awards and most especially at a time when the company was saved from a great turbulence. Closing the year with numerous quality awards despite the rebranding is a great achievement to reckon with. ‘The LAIF Awards are a significant milestone for us and recognition of our resilience, tenacity, and the creativity of our brand, our team as well as our partners. So, being highly recognised at the LAIF Awards means that our commitment and passion for excellence is noticed across all relevant quarters’, he said further.

Regardless of its recognition for resilience and the numerous quality awards, 9mobile remains the telecommunication firm with the smallest pie of the market share with only 17 million subscribers.
