YouTube is going fully social and yes YouTube can be described as “social” video platform with some non-social attributes. You see they announced two days ago that they were adding a couple of features with the aim of making content creators easily connect with fans on YouTube. Called YouTube Community, it will work like Facebook New Feed for just videos such that videos from creators on YouTube. Here’s what they said about it;

“Now you can do things like text, live videos, images, animated GIFs and more, giving you easier, lightweight ways to engage with your fans more often in between uploads, in real time. Viewers will be able to see your posts in the Subscriptions feed on their phones. They can also opt into getting a notification anytime you post.”

Community is now in beta and is tested by a couple of popular content creators on YouTube whom they say have brought some diversity to the platform. Some of them include The Key of Awesome, Threadbanger, John & Hank Green, AsapSCIENCE and The Game Theorists.
