WhatsApp now has a desktop app for Windows and Mac.
WhatsApp announced its native desktop app that’s now available on Windows and Mac devices. This comes a little over a year since the company announced its web app with support for major browsers rolling out a month later. As expected, messages are synced with the mobile app as well. The desktop app allows notifications and better keyboard shortcuts.
WhatsApp now has over a billion users monthly and has introduced end-to-end encryption for all messages on its platform which makes it practically impossible to retrieve messages sent on WhatsApp. To download the app, visit https://www.whatsapp.com/download from your desktop browser. Then, open the app and scan the QR code using the WhatsApp app on your phone (look for WhatsApp Web menu under Settings).
